Early Family of Hertford and Bertie Counties, NCJames Edward Early was born 11 Feb 1862 and died 23 Jan 1943 in Hertford Co. NC. In 1870 he is listed as age 7, and is living in the household of William and Fannie Godwin. I haven't found him in 1880. He married Martha Jane Odom (1859-1929) about 1885. They are in Bertie Co. in 1900, and in Hertford in 1910 and 1920.

Carrie Early (1902-1973) m. ____ Jenkins Glennie appears in the 1900 census as Agnis B. and in 1910 as Aglennie. Her death certificate reads Glennie. There were two more children who died prior to the 1900 census.
